January Devotional: Psalm 92-106

Hey friends, Happy New Year! God is so faithful and good. I am grateful that He has allowed us to have another year of doing these devotionals and getting into the WORD together. I pray that God would grow your heart closer to His this year of 2022. That this year, you would learn to reading God's Word and be encouraged by other believers. I wanted to share with you something God has been doing on my heart and what I've been praying to Him about.

During 2021, God showed me how much I get overwhelmed and overthink, which is still something I am working on. One area I felt this way was with my quiet time, church, youth group, and books I was reading. I was getting overwhelmed because I was trying to apply what I learned at church on Sunday morning, Sunday school, salt + light devo, Christian book I was reading, and Wednesday night at church. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of the wisdom + teaching I was learning, but I began to try to apply and remember each application in my own strength, and it only left me overwhelmed. I was allowing the enemy to make me feel overwhelmed so I had been praying to God and asking Him what I should do for my quiet time this new year. He lead me to make it simple.

This month, we will continue our study in Psalms, reading one every two days. I am praying that God will help us all with His strength, to meditate and memorize His Word, as we slow down to unpack it. We have a group message with other believers (middle school-college age) sharing what they are learning, praying for, and keeping each other accountable as we study God's Word together!
