Addie was a very good friend of mine who passed away from ATV accident a few summers ago. Addie was the kindest person I have ever met and she constantly reflected the heart of Jesus everywhere she went. She was full of joy and peace that could have only been found in the Lord. Today, we celebrate Addie's 16th birthday and her life! I pray over this post today that it will encourage you to reach out to me if you have questions about eternity or Jesus, it would be my honor to talk with you about our amazing Savior. As Addie is in Heaven because she has accepted Jesus into her life, that her story might encourage us to share the good news! I am compelled to share this because the truth is, we do not know when our final day will be and it is so important to know if you are ready. Have you ever had a test that you did not prepare well for? This is usually how it goes:

Never studied• do pretty bad, not prepared, failed. Studied a little• maybe the night before, did a little better, not really prepared. Studied• confidence, prepared, fully alive, and you do well. When God comes back will we be ready? The coming of Jesus will be one of these three options: either you know Him and are prepared for his coming, you are confident that you know where you're going. 2) You are not sure. You go to church but you’re not truly saved and you haven’t give up your all to Him. 3) You completely don’t know/care. You don’t know Jesus and you haven’t “studied” yet. I pray that you would cling to God's truths here and start “studying” and preparing/getting ready for the Day of the Lord!!

One day the Lord will return to this Earth and the question we can all ask ourselves is, Are we ready? The bible says to be saved we must understand our sin and how it separates us from God, believe in the cross that gives a relationship with God and confess our sins for forgiveness in repentance. Jesus died a horrible death on the cross for EVERYONE; for those who love Him and the ones who hate Him. His love for you is infinite and unfailing. He desires so badly to know you and you can know Him by accepting Jesus into your heart. To follow the Lord, it is as easy as the ABC's:

A- admitting were sinners and our sin separates us from God

B- believing in the Jesus and that he died for YOU

C- confessing our sins, praying for Jesus to come into our heart in a relationship with us.

To ask Jesus into your life is a simple confession of your heart, there are no perfect words to say or read, just you coming before God in prayer and asking that He forgive us of our sins and come into our lives and save us. The Bible gives the best instruction-- it says....

“Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

“I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:10

I love you all so much and I pray that today's blog post doesn't scare you but rather it inspires you to learn about Jesus and ALL that He has done for YOU! If you have any questions about this or just want to talk, I would LOVE the chance to talk about that with you! Feel free to email me anytime, khigdon04@gmail.com JESUS LOVES YOU!
